I refused to buy your products for the first year of our relationship... but then... when a store suddenly appeared a mere 10 minute drive from my parents home... I saw it as a sign. Our relationship blossomed. I fell in love.
You presented me (well, in all honestly, my mom) with totals that are better representative of a month's rent, instead of clothing purchases.
my soul is here, in this lime green dress, lounging by an open window by the spanish breeze...

I justified you, myself, OUR purchases.
yes, if i wore you only once, lime green dress, that would be $138. but if i wore you twice, you would be $69 - a little expensive for a dress, yes... and three times... $46... and by our fourth time together, lime green dress, you would be $35 - a price i'd find at Target...
linens! look at how beautiful these are!!!

nevermind my resolution to only buy white bedlinens... i could make an exception for you, anthropologie
anthro and i are on quite intimate terms, you see.
anthro knows my email address.
anthro even knows where i live.
but as i flipped through the january 2010 catalog, i had an epiphany when i saw this:

i was ready to go out and chop off my hair, my long-brown, grown out for years hair, for this cute bob.
(i have resolved myself to long hair until motherhood, where the hair seemingly gets shorter and shorter with each child. i might as well have long hair until then, for i won't have this hair again... until my children are old, and i will be sporting gray locks down to my waist)
why was i so impulsive, considering cutting off my hair to achieve this model's look?
i realized that, no, it's not the hair. it is what the hair represents.
summer time, full of freedom to smell the flowers, be outside late into the evening, feeling the suns warm rays kiss my shoulders.
i suppose this can be transposed to all of anthropologies sales to me. it's not necessairly the stores quality... it is that the store is an emblem of everything i want to be.
creative, carefree, poised - effortlessly beautiful.
kudos to you, anthropologie.
you have brainwashed and capitalized on me.
