update on the puppy

earlier this semester i posted a picture of this cute puppy.
Lucky.
well, here she is now. not a puppy anymore. a small dog.
Lucky.
(we're looking in a mirror... she just loves that other dog in the reflection!)

Sexual Content Assignment

House
"Ignorance is Bliss"
1 act per 14.7 minutes

Bones
"Dwarf in the Dirt"
1 act per 5.5 minutes

Better Off Ted
"The Long and Winding Road"
1 act per 2.44 minutes

The real shocker for this assignment was Bones. I just didn't realize how much sexual content was in this show! I suppose I just thought it was all analytical terms... but you better watch out for those witnesses! And Angela.

Also, I was quite shocked to realize that Better Off Ted, the shortest show of the ones I watched, contained the MOST sexual content! I suppose this is probably because we find sexual innuendos, comments, etc. funny at times. And this show is a comedy!

spontaneous human combustion

when i was a younger version of myself, i caught some documentary type show of weird deaths. spontaneous human combustion was one of these deaths highlighted, specifically the death of Mary Reeser. she just went up into flames, sitting in her Lazy Boy Chair.

my fear of spontaneously combusting was born.

i was terrified that i could possibly just burst into flames. and guess what? apparently this is real. rare, but real.

or that is what chuck and josh from the howstuffworks.com podcast tell me.

"the flames were coming from her mouth like a dragon, and they were making a roaring noise." that is the father who watched his daughter spontaneously combust in 1982.

i still remain scared to spontaneously combust. but if i do, i hope i do it in public, so that people can make statements like above.

at least i'll go out with a bang. HA HA.

blogs

hiiiiiii friends.

i love blogs.
and i love food.
and photography.

thepioneerwoman.com has capitalized on people like me, and has made an empire out of her interests. apparently, she is estimated at $20 million. wow; i need to take up farming.

you should check her out.

anyways, if you can, you MUST try some of her recipes. granted, they are not for the health conscious. boyfriend said it best when he remarked "ALL her recipes have butter"

but oh, are these recipes so delicious. i have not tried an average meal from thepioneerwoman.

while on the topic of blogs, i must admit that i love reading nieniedailogues.blogspot.com. oh, to have half the heart that she does. i am entertained by her adorable children, her poetic musings, and the like. plus, her life looks like something straight out of an anthropologie catalog.

and we all know how much i love anthropologie...

super quints

professor willoughby showed us a clip of these cuties as a lesson on the unexpected blessings of fertility treatment.

i'm a sucker for multiples. plus, i wanted to know if the family was mormon (they are)

and they can sing!

jaw dropping

oh my goodness. i did not even think about exposing kids on facebook. when dr. coyne made that comment, about her creepy high-school friend now having access to pictures of her kids, my jaw just about hit the floor. i just never thought of that!

now i feel so guilty for posting pictures of my pseudo-nieces on my facebook page. the twinners are just so cute, and i innocently assume that other people would love to see pictures of my cute pseudo-nieces. i didn't even think about these random people that i add having access to these cute twinners in a less than lovely way!

another day down, another lesson learned!

post 14: emails

this past week while listening to an episode of the podcast "how stuff works: stuff you should know", the topic of folklore was addressed. the hosts talked about how back in the day, as urban legends were passed on, each storyteller added his or her own spice to the story. but now, with the wonderfulness of the world-wide-interweb, we can just click 'send' an an urban legend is on it's way around the globe.

here are a few images from a hilarious email mass forward that my mom sent me.

hope you enjoyed them as much as i did :)
